Doggie Day Out In The Scottish Highlands

Exploring the Scottish Highlands with ‘our’ house sit dogs: a Patterdale lady named Suma and BJ, a male Staffie, not to forget Vlou, @TravelingBeagle. Come with us and enjoy the video of our Doggie Day out in the Scottish Highlands.

The privilege of Grey World Nomads is to be able to travel around the world at a slow place.

During our house and dog sit in the Scottish Highlands we captured the most stunning views and ‘our’ dogs in this short video on the first day out.

Did you ever house sit in the Scottish Highlands?

I’m searching for natural beauty and wilderness, while I’m travelling relentlessly to find delightful places and encounters with wildlife. I try to capture the thrill of the moments in photography and words, hoping to inspire others with the love for animals and nature.

  1. Gorgeous! I especially liked the photos of the lupines and of the lake from above. I would like to visit the highlands some day. We had planned on visiting Edinburgh next month but didn’t have the time to squeeze in the Highlands, so we decided to save all of Scotland for some other time. I can’t wait until our schedules are freer and we have more time to slowly explore.

  2. Oh I absolutely adored your movie, the photography and the music! We used to live in the Cairngorms and are nostalgic for Scotland. My husband is guessing this is the North West Highlands? Stunning. #WeekendWanderlust

    1. Thank you, Rhonda. It’s sometimes difficult to choose the right pictures which tell the story. This way is nice although most people don’t seem to watch longer than about 10 seconds …

  3. Those dogs are so cute! I am sure they are used to walk and run around their surroundings. Love the music in the video.

  4. Lovely! I took a short trip to the Scottish Highlands and would love to go back one day to explore further. Housesitting is an excellent idea!

  5. We have never house sat, but what a great way to see the world. Beautiful photos! You really captured nature—and your dog friends—well.

  6. The photo of the Lupines is beautiful! I still have yet to see the Highlands although I’ve visited Scotland. The scenery is gorgeous and amazing in this country, and after seeing your lovely photos I hope I can go back soon!

  7. well, Scotland certainly has no shortage of scenery does it? I do look forward to traveling like this when i life is a little more flexible. thanks for join in #wkendtravelinspiration Slainté!

  8. What a lovely way to show off your photos of an absolutely beautiful country. You make me want to pack a bag and some good walking shoes! I love the many shades of green, the pics of the mountains and the ponds with the water lilies. Your adopted family of dogs look like they were terrific companions. It’s been several months since our last housesit but I’m thinking we need to start looking for some opportunities in the next few months! Anita

  9. I’ve never been to the Scottish Highlands, but it defintely looks like a place I’d like to visit! Look at those views! And those pups! 😀 Thanks for sharing and linking up!

  10. We’re avid house sitters and this is an enviable assignment in a spectacular setting! Love your charges; each is just adorable.

  11. I’ve never house sat before, and would love to. This looks stunning, especially the location. Would you believe, I’m British and have never been to Scotland?!
    You’ve whetted my appetite.

    1. Hi Bex, I can’t believe it 😉 We have been in the UK half a year now and returned to Scotland twice. We HAD TO go back, it’s just to beautiful for words.
