Marcelle's Wildlife Photography: Leopard in Kruger National Park, South Africa | Marcelle's Wildtierfotografie: Leopard im Kruger National Park, Südafrika

One Month+ In Kruger National Park, South Africa

Our backs thankfully appreciate that we are back in civilization after several weeks camping on an air mattress whose occasional holes had to be repaired regularly after an uncomfortable night on the rock-hard ground of Kruger National Park in South Africa
The searing heat during the day was suffocating and only the pool in the camp could provide some relief. In the morning hours before sunrise or in the evening when the sun gives way to the big sky dotted with a myriad of stars, equal numerous bugs appear to get their share on the blood of animals and humans, who live in these harsh surroundings during summer time.

Nevertheless, it’s worth to visit the Kruger in summer time anyway. The rivers flow, animals find water anywhere; a relief after two years of serious drought. Green as bright as the Irish countryside promises prosperity for all the newborn wildlife.

So far just a teaser for more to come of our stay in ‘ the best place on earth ‘ with a picture of a leopard watching us majestically from a tree near camp Skukuza.
