A short drive from Aultbea in the North West of the Scottish Highlands where we house sat for three weeks we found Laide Wood. The area covers 85 hectares of hill moorland with high ground running all the way to the sea at the remote village of Laide.
Waterlily
The surface tension of the water balances the waterlily and its leaves so that their weight depresses the water on either side. The photo illustrates how plants and insects can float and stride on a water surface.
